Three shirts

So, yes, behind the scenes in the laboratory, the studio, well...my room. Yes, just finished a group of shirts, and I like how they turned out.  The photo is probably weird, because I was playing around with the aperture and shutter speed. I really don't like to use the flash...More to come..

Gotta give you more

Gotta Gotta Gotta!

I was just listening to Otis....Anyways. Wow, Html. I think I got it. We'll see. If anything kooky goes on on this blog, it's probably because I've been fooling around in the back...So, here's another version of the bike print. I really like it, and I think I can see where it might go. Tune in.

Computee Computee

Alright, so,

I finally finished burning the "bike sculpture" print, and I have to say, it was pretty satisfying. The formula I used was - 150 Watt bulb, at 23 inches away, burning for 40 minutes. The result was acceptable, although, not perfect. Printing has so many variables, I realized being able to control as many as possible helps immensely. The next foray will be into the world of....layers! Yes, I really want to be able to layer images on top of each other, and align them with some sort of registration system. Word. Tune in. Oh yeah, thank you to a special someone who took pictures for me...

Poco a Poco

Poco a Poco meng. Yes, so this is the latest update for the Anatomical Heart painting. I'll have to think of a good name for the painting, like, Blood in Blood out. HaHaHaHa! I like that one. It's also the name of some prison gang movie...Anyways. Yes, please stay tuned. The painting is coming along quite nicely, and I just made a new print that finally came out like I wanted, and it looks so sick! I'll put that up in the next post. Speaking of sick, there was this guy lying outside of my apartment today....forget it. Peace. Have a good day. Let's talk soon.

Unidentified Flying Bodies!!! Arrgghh

Hello hello,

First of all, I need to say that I'm listening to DJ Said, of FatSouls records. Oh my, oh my! I am a child of Deep House, so this is up my alley, but DJ Said is from Nigeria, and knows the Afrobeat. You must listen to him. Period. I cannot explain what he does. Anyways, here's another painting in the process. It is based loosely on people dancing, or flying..floating. Yeah, it's pretty abstract right now. Tune in Tune in. Oh yeah, DJ Said is living in San Francisco, so when he plays I will definitely notify the masses...to move those...you know.

Progress Report

So,

Here's an update on the Heart painting. I'm still painting a couple pieces at a time, which ends up being really fun. Again, the focus is on the anatomy, or the body as a whole. This process will stick with me for awhile. Why? The body is so fascinating and complex, that it provides enough wonder and interest to want to study it over a lifetime. I hope to understand more physiology, so that I will know what exactly is going on when I paint it. Yes, by the way, the How Weird Street Festival was yesterday, and though I didn't get any pictures, I can say, it was nuts! Yes, electronic music, and dancing in the streets always gets me! Thank you for tuning in. See you soon.

Anatomy Anatomy

Hello Hello,

Well, I can't stop making paintings. I started this while painting a couple other paintings, the pomagranete, the bodies, the landscape one. Anyways, I wanted to show you how this looks in the beginning, when I just start throwing down. It's a pretty fun part of the process because I get to paint and be loose for a while, before I tighten it up. I really do like painting loosely, so you probably won't see any photorealism anytime soon. Anyways, Dan and I went to an open studios at Art Explosion two weeks ago, and it was a lovely event. Lots of different art styles, and some super talented people. Wow. Cool. K.I.T.

Bike Sculpture Update!

Welcome back.

So, this is my next update of the bike sculpture print. I'm really excited to nail this down. I burnt the screen for 30 min. with a 150 watt bulb, at a distance of 18". I still got a hotspot, as you can see in the print, but I feel so close. Almost there! I just got some good advice from a friend, and I think the next burn will be it! Stay tuned...

Bike Sculpture process

Okay, so I did realize how hilarious this process of burning an image onto the silkscreen can be. I did check Speedball specifications, and the advice is not working out for me. I keep getting a hotspot in the middle of the screen, where the light is closest, and essentially, the hottest.   What to do? My new specs are a 30 minute burn, with a 150 watt bulb, at 18 inches away. Stay tuned...

New Pomegranate Painting

Hello Everyone,

I have another new painting in the works. It's of this pomegranete that I had been saving, because it looked so cool. It had nice textures, and colors in the skin. Well, I kept it for a little too long, without eating it, and it proceeded to become bumpy and sucked in. It was disintegrating from the inside out. Well, I still liked the way it looked, maybe even more now. This is a work in progress. I've been painting this one by throwing splotches and dots onto the canvas, and allowing the colors to make sense as they go. It's been super fun. More to come...

New Painting - Fist Pumper

Fists and Leaves

Here's a new painting I'm working on. I don't have a name for it, in reality. I just am fascinated by the body. Obvious. It will become obvious with a little time. I will definitely document its progress, as time goes on. Yes. Acrylic on canvas on a 2' x 2' square. Word. Stay tuned.
